If I remember right Frida said she hated anything she didn’t make herself with her image on it for sale, which is why I dont really buy anything with her image on it. This is just gross not only is this against her family’s wishes but shes fucking whitewashed too.

for anyone who doesn’t know, this is what Frida Kahlo actually looked like:

her skin, hair, and eyes were darker than that shitty doll’s and her eyebrows were way thicker and CONNECTED. 

Frida embraced her unibrow and mustache as part of her natural beauty and purposefully darkened them in defiance of the Western world’s sexist, Eurocentric beauty standards. she fucking despised colonialism, appropriation, and the violence white people brought upon her country. she literally said, “I don’t like gringos at all. They are very boring and all have faces like unbaked rolls.”

also, she wasn’t a socialist, she was a communist, a political stance that she dedicated much of her life to. American capitalism disgusted her and she would have wanted no part in it.
